We are so excited that you are considering joining this movement of intense self-care and deep healing…in a world quite full of quick-fixes, band-aids, and shallow solutions.  You are taking the next step to becoming part of a community that is empowering, supportive, curious, positive, and truly healing-minded.

We not only heal our bodies and minds with this practice…we not only feel so much better….we also have a ton of fun!

BASIC INFO:

All beginner classes are practiced in a heated room, so it is important that you prepare a bit for class (see Step 3 below).

Mats/large towels/water are required (bring your own or rent/buy here).

When you arrive for your first class of the Yoga Kickstart, you will receive three buddy passes to share during your kickstart time period.

The Yoga Kickstart is a THREE-WEEK program; classes expire and may only be used during that trial period.

Why?  Extensive research on heat acclimation in athletes has found that exposure to warmer weather and higher humidity should be done at a frequency of approximately 3 times per week for 3 weeks.  During this time, the human system learns how to respond to these conditions.  So it is important that you don’t push yourself too hard or expect yourself to be able to work at your usual full capacity until you expose yourself to these conditions.  Class by class, you can add more effort, but it is important that you allow your system to learn to acclimate!

Beginner Classes are generally held at the following times, but make sure to check the schedule each week for pop-ups or cancellations:

Sunday 9:00 – 10:30 am
Monday 4:30-5:45 pm
Monday 6:00-7:00 pm
Tuesday 9:00 – 10:30 am (lower temp)
Tuesday 6:00 – 7:00 pm
Wednesday 6:00 – 7:00 pm
Thursday 9:00-10:30 am
Thursday 5:45 – 7:15 pm (lower temp)
Friday 9:00 – 10:30 am
Saturday 8:00 – 9:30 am
(some Saturdays 10:00-11:00 am)

Step Two:

BOOK YOUR BEGINNER CLASS ON THE SCHEDULE PAGE HERE
**Bookings are only held until 5 minutes prior to class; cancellations may be made without penalty up until 4 hours prior to the start of class.**

Step Three:

Book your free consultation and intake conversation with the director of the yoga school.

We recognize the big deal it is to take your healing and self-care processes seriously and are here to help you be accountable to your own goals!  This complimentary conversation is available only up until the 10th day of your Yoga Kickstart.  Don’t miss it!

Step Four:

Please HYDRATE 1-2 hours BEFORE class (20-30 ounces plain water).
Yoga should be practiced on an empty stomach (3+ hours since a meal).

Arrive 10-15 minutes before the listed class time.
5 minutes before class starts, any no-show BOOKINGS are given to people waiting.

What is Yoga?

Our independently-owned, volunteer-run yoga school continues to teach traditional, Bikram method yoga classes, because they WORK!

Yoga is not another fitness fad designed to distract you with playlists or new moves everyday.

Yoga is not a stretching class (although it will reduce stiffness better than anything else).

Yoga is always a practice of postures held in stillness, and is accessible to all levels of mobility, balance, and strength.

We are not here to keep you on the never-ending loop of fast-paced…. high-tech….. next-best-thing….

Yoga is different.  Yogahonest-to-goodness yoga (from Calcutta, in our case)is MEDICINE.

It is designed to make a permanent change in YOU: your mind, your breathing, your nervous system, your structure, your awareness, your physiology, and more.

Yoga works in a natural, non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical way.
It is extremely effective, but its effectiveness will likely never be recognized by mainstream medicine nor understood by most.

Why not?

Because it is actively PRACTICED by YOU.

No one else can do it for you, or do it to you.

No big company, industry, or franchise profits from you participating in yoga.

(Although your career, school, and/or family life will benefit along side your health!) Our yoga school is completely volunteer-run and operates on a not-for-profit basis.  We are all here on a mission to provide this possibility.

It requires your EFFORT.

This is not a quick-fix pill to swallow.

It CHALLENGES you.

Which is the only way to create true, lasting change.

And…. instead of coming with along list of negative side effects….
