A common question.

I don't judge anyone for asking it. But I will tell you my truth, plain and clear.

❌ The answer is no. I do not experience joy in joining a character-assassinating, self-righteous, judge-from-the-confort-of-my-Netflix-worldview cultural bandwagon. (So I am not hopping onboard.)

😁 But I'll tell you what DOES make me happy!! 😊

📯 Spreading the good news and the much deeper truth about what YOGA IS and what YOGA DOES. 🎉

❤️‍🩹 We have access to this *most* powerful medicine. This art and science and practice of healing!!

🤗 It is right in front of us. Available, and accessible. Right here, for the willing.

💵 Yet it is unsubsidized, unsanctioned, under-referred to, unrecognized by the mainstream for all of the inflammation-based chronic diseases that it reverses and prevents.... and still not viewed in its proper light.

🍃 It doesn't help that yoga has been diluted and chopped up and thrown to the random and fickle winds of the American fitness industry / Yoga Alliance either.

🤑 But honestly it is not a surprise. I understand that no big corporations or associations or pharmaceutical companies are going to make it big with yoga. I get how things work!

💰 (Although - fun side note - the health insurance companies could actually save a ridiculous amount of money if they covered Bikram Yoga and tracked people's practice!!)

🗓️ Come and try a month of 12 classes. Whether you are new or a former student, in-shape or not, stiff or bendy, or even if you have done lots of other yoga....you will be AMAZED at how well this yoga works.

👂 Over the years, I have heard many, many people use the phrase "they drank the kool-aid" ... when referring to those of us who have allowed ourselves total openness to the healing and transformation of Bikram Yoga!

🧠 My sister even recalls attending our grand opening party 10 years ago....thinking to herself..."these people are crazy!....

👻 I had a significant other (two decades ago) who'd call me - somewhat pejoratively - "ghost girl Annie", whenever I was in a super present-moment blissful state.... (I really didn't appreciate that, because that is when I felt the absolute best!!!)

🤪 Now I have come to appreciate that from the outside we might not make sense.

⌚ But as of late I have been wondering....

What if ❓

🤔 ...there is a group of us who is actually cleansing our bodies internally, our emotions so thoroughly, and our minds so deeply....

💦 That we are actually sweating OUT the mainstream kool-aid!!!! We are shedding the typical and "normal" conditionings of constant stress, quick fixes, mainstream addictions, entertainment distractions, past-and-future obsessions, fixed identity rigidity, ego....you know...the usual!!!

😋 So I get it. From the outside it might look like we are ingesting something ....

🤮 But the truth is that we are shedding the unhelpful programming that we - and everyone else around us - has ingested for decades.

💜 It takes a certain openness for sure.

🥳 And it is the best feeling ever. Present moment bliss like you can only imagine once you've felt it!

Join us to sweat out whatever it is that has been holding you back!

🌞 Doesn't matter what season it is, summer or winter. The human spirit needs this cleansing year round.

🗓️ 2023 is a fun year! In a few months it will be the TENTH anniversary of Bikram Yoga Capital Area, and in August it will be the TWENTIETH anniversary of our studio owner Ann's Bikram Yoga practice.

🤩 It is also the ONE-HUNDREDTH birthday of the opening of Bishnu Ghosh's College of Physical Education (later changed to Yoga College)....in Kolkata, India....where it all started, and where it continues today.

💜 (Bishnu Ghosh is the younger brother of Paramahansa Yogananda, for those who know if the Self-realization Fellowship or Yogananda's legacy.) 💜

As time passes, and as the world seems to get even more distracted and scattered, our faith in this consistent, comprehensive yoga method only deepens and grows.

We have very exciting stuff coming over the next few months.

And we are so grateful to be here burning the Bikram-Ghosh lineage torch for all desiring to transform and heal!!
